the hands are clasped; the hands are clasped in front, the left hand escapes and swings (2011)

the hands are clasped; the hands are clasped in front, the left hand escapes and swings is a 16-20 minutes long performance that portraits two dancers sharing disjointed and fragment memories with their bodies. These memories are fragments of choreographic sentences from pieces dance pieces coming from the 20th and 21st centuries. The dancers mimic the ‘remembering acts’ of the other, and repeat each memory/movement until they have fully embodied it. This mimicry is interwind with a silent selection process where the dancers experiment with each others memories and create new sentences from it. The photos were taken during the tech rehearsal at the Bonheur Theatre (Rotterdam, NL)
